Lydia Muijen has worked and lived both in the US and the Netherlands. In 2000 she acted in her first theatrical performance in Florida, where she was casted as Syra in the Merchant by Plautus. After having moved back to the Netherlands in 2001 she and six other friends set up a student based theatre group called ToCo. After having completed her MA and MSc she moved to Los Angeles. Theatrical productions include The Taming of the Shrew, Not to be the Shakespearean Death Project and the Pillow Man. The last feature she worked on as a singer-songwriter was Holy Rollers and was selected to compete at Sundance. In 2010 she was cast for three short films in the Netherlands Noortje, The Man Who Cuts the Sunday Roast and Filpped (best use of Character).

De gedichtenbundel 25 & 25 and a Couple of Pounds more is een verzameling van haar buitenlandse ervaringen onderweg in vliegtuigen. De titel verwijst daar ook direct naar: 25 om 25 kilo is de hoeveelheid bagage die je mee mag nemen. Het meest bizarre ondervindt de auteur/acteur nog regelmatig dat op de ene weegschaal op de luchthaven het gewicht van haar koffers 25 +25 = 50 kilo is en bij een andere balie het ineens 55 kilo weegt. Vandaar dat in het vliegverkeer en onze moderne samenleving 25 en 25 niet altijd 50 is. De illustraties in deze trendy gedichtenbundel zijn van de auteur/actrice zelf, die buiten dat zij op jonge leeftijd al een succesvolle internationale filmcarriere heeft, ook haar creativiteit in gedichten en hedendaagse kunst uit.
